The second type is the swing arm linkage type. This type retains the tailgate gas spring. An electric swing arm linkage is installed on the side of the body to drive the tailgate. It works with the gas spring to open and close the tailgate. This type occupies a certain amount of The side wall space is less beautiful than the electric strut type, and the advantage is that it can be applied to a larger tailgate and heavier weight. Therefore, it is mostly used in MPV models with a larger tailgate.
 
The third type is the type of electric drive hinge. This type also retains the tailgate gas spring. The tailgate is connected to the body roof through a gooseneck hinge. The electric mechanism directly drives the hinge to rotate, which works together with the gas spring to achieve the tailgate Electric opening and closing.
 
The electric strut type electric tailgate structure is currently the mainstream type used in the automobile market, and it is also the most used electric tailgate type of independent brands. Its core modules are the controller, the electric strut and the suction lock. The matching of the performance parameters of the electric strut and the pull-in lock with the tailgate system is the difficulty in the development of the electric tailgate system. The arrangement of the support points of the electric strut, the calculation of the mechanical parameters of the strut spring and the calculation of the output torque of the drive motor are the layout The key to the development is to calculate and match the mass center of the tailgate assembly and the hinge axis arrangement. Introduction of electric tailgate system

Electric tailgate system strut module
The electric strut module is composed of ball joint, Hall sensor, drive motor, gear box, screw, nut and booster spring. The drive motor receives the instructions from the controller module to rotate forward and backward, and decelerate through the gear box. After the torque is increased, the screw and the nut are driven to rotate relative to each other, thereby pushing the electric strut to axially extend or contract, and under the combined action of the spring force of the booster spring, the electric tailgate can be operated to open or close. There is a built-in Hall sensor at the end of the motor, and its feedback signal is used as the signal input for the start and stop position of the tailgate opening and closing operation and the intelligent anti-pinch.
 
Electric tailgate system suction lock module
The structure of the electric pull-in lock module. The pull-in lock module is composed of the tail door lock assembly, the lock assembly, the pull-in motor and the winding wire. Compared with the traditional tail door lock, the suction motor and the winding wire structure are added. , The tailgate can be electrically closed from the half-locked state to the fully-locked state by the pull-in motor.
 
Anti-pinch rubber strip for electric tailgate system
The electric strut module has a built-in Hall sensor with Hall anti-pinch function. Usually the anti-pinch force for calibrating the position of the lower lock body of the tailgate is between 60N and 100N. If the anti-pinch force calibration is too small, it will easily lead to an increase in the trigger frequency of false anti-pinch , If the anti-pinch force calibration is too large, it is easy to pinch passengers. In addition, the two sides of the tailgate rear windshield are closer to the hinge, and the anti-pinch force arm is small. This position requires a greater anti-pinch force to trigger the Hall anti-pinch, which can easily lead to pinching passengers. Therefore, high-end cars usually design anti-pinch strips at this location. The anti-pinch strip sensor is the upper and lower conductors that do not touch each other. After the obstacle is forced during the closing of the tailgate, the internal conductor contacts and conducts, and the controller module (ECU) receives the signal to control the electric strut to reverse and open the tail door. It conducts signal feedback through the conductor contact and conduction after compression and deformation, its installation position requires a higher sealing gap size, otherwise it will easily lead to false anti-pinch situations.
 
Function execution process of electric tailgate system
After the power supply is completed, the controller module (ECU) first performs system self-checking and enters the standby state. At the same time, it reports the system status to the body controller (BCM) through the communication module. After the body controller (BCM) obtains the door opening or closing command ( Through the remote control key's tail door opening or closing command) or the owner presses the tail door opening or closing button, the controller module (ECU) analyzes and verifies the control signal and the status of the tail door system, identifies the action type, and issues the door opening or closing command.
